About Mount Remo Vet
Mount Remo offers full-service veterinary care for small and large animals, including large animal ambulatory and home euthanasia services. From the front door to discharge, each member is a critical part of providing excellent care.

Our Practice
Renee grew up in Terrace, on a hobby farm with animals and no nearby veterinary support. When their milk cow got sick during her Grade 11 year, her family was left to piece together what to do on their own. The right treatment saved her, but Renee never really forgot what it felt like to have that lack of care at the wrong moment.
Knowing from an early stage that she wanted to help fill this geographical gap in services, she looked at the industry with a critical eye at every step of her training. When she started Mount Remo, she wanted to build something that felt different for everyone - from kennel staff to management. She believed that a team that feels genuinely supported at every level would naturally provide better care, and that's still the philosophy the whole practice runs on.
We're a community clinic in the truest sense. We live here, shop here, run into our clients every time we leave the house. That keeps us honest, and it keeps us grounded in why we do this in the first place. Take a read through our blog to see how this truly translates into the best possible healthcare for you and your pet. Evidence-based from philosophy to practice.

Meet The Team
The people in the positions

After graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021, I returned home to live and work in the valleys that have always called to me.
My dream was to practice in a clinic where staff in every position were empowered to provide accessible, reliable, and intentional care for a wide variety of species. Creating that with Mount Remo Vet while still mountain biking, skiing, or kite boarding with my husband in this amazing playground is a dream come true. My evenings include ample time gardening with my cats, Leo & Larry, or curled up with my dog, Maeve.

Born and raised in Terrace, I'm excited to be back home with the skills to help the people and pets of my community.
After spending a summer working in a local clinic, I made my kindergarten dream come true by pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. While helping at various farms during lambing season, a passion for small ruminants developed. Since starting as an associate in 2025, sheep and goat appointments are the highlight of my day. When I'm not at the clinic, you can find me and my poodle, Marlin, out exploring local trails or curled up at home with a book.

I joined the veterinary world in September 2019 and it was truly the best decision I’ve ever made.
While I have a deep love for all the animals I meet, I’m a self-proclaimed "cat person" and look forward to having a feline friend of my own in the future. Outside of the clinic, I am a passionate musician who expresses my creativity through playing the piano and singing with my family at various church events. Whether I am caring for animals or exploring the arts, I thrive on finding new ways to bring a creative touch to everything I do. I love bringing that same sense of warmth and creativity to the care I provide for your beloved pets!

I grew up raising and caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. Since a young age I knew I wanted a career nurturing that passion.
I began with a veterinary reception program right out of high school and went on to get my diploma for Animal Health Technology in 2018. My closest companion is a 14 yo grey cat named Sneakers and she has been with me for more than a decade. I have a wide range of hobbies that vary from the creative arts, such as knitting, drawing and writing, to gardening, cooking and beyond. I love being apart of the community and to me, nothing beats a dance party filled with good food and even better people!

I’ve loved working with animals for as long as I can remember, which led me to a career as a veterinary technician.
With over 18 years of experience in general practice, emergency, and referral care, I’m passionate about supporting pets and their families through every stage of life. At home, I stay busy with my two kids, a curious cat, and a bearded dragon who always keeps things interesting. When I’m not at the clinic, you’ll usually find me spending time outdoors or enjoying family time. I truly value building connections with clients and helping both people and their pets feel comfortable and cared for.

As a toddler, I learned how to sit on the back of the neighbors horse.
I desperately wanted a horse of my own and tried to ride any I could get my hands on. At the age of 14, I convinced my dad to buy one. I have shown, cattle sorted and penned, jumped, and even did some dressage. Deep down, I really just have the need for speed so I compete in gymkhanas and BCBRA. My husband and I currently own three horses and 160 acres where we board more horses, walk our pugs, and enjoy various livestock. I wanted to be a vet through young years and teens but struggled attending school because I wanted to spend sunny days out in the pasture! Believe it or not, when I was growing up I could not give my horse needles and was squeamish with open wounds without wanting to pass out! Turns out assistants spend a lot more time with animals - living the dream.

I joined the Mount Remo Vet Team in early 2025.
I never thought I would find myself exactly where I am today, but being a part of a team so deeply dedicated to the health and well-being of our community's animals has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I’m an avid motorcycle rider, a huge fan of motorsports, and I am a self-proclaimed book nerd through and through. On my off days, you can almost always find me snuggled up at home, lost in the pages of a great story!

I have always been curious about animals, but it wasn't until I worked at a wildlife rehabilitation center that I decided I wanted to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
Shortly after joining the Mount Remo Veterinary Team in 2024, I was accepted into the TRU Veterinary Technologist Open Learning program. This unique program allows me to practice my clinical skills as I learn them. When it comes to hobbies, I think of myself as a master of none and a lover of all. When I'm not studying or at work, I am either exploring outdoors, cooking, gardening, crafting, foraging, or playing a musical instrument.

Growing up, I was always the kid asking to pet all the dogs that I passed on the street. As I grew up, I became obsessed with learning about all animals, which led me to a career in Wildlife Biology.
I hold a Master of Science in Environmental & Life Sciences from Trent University where I studied American Black Bear behaviour. I moved to Terrace in 2018 and worked in the region as a wildlife biologist for six years. I became incredibly burnt out and decided on a career change in 2025 that aligned more with my values of giving back to the community and working directly with animals, which brought me to the Mount Remo Team. I recently started an Associate of Science Degree in the Veterinary Technician Program online from Penn Foster College. Outside of the clinic you will find me walking dogs through my side hustle Camp Gertie, or being active through rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing or running the trails with my dog Gertrude.
